Yoga Nidra supports women during menopause by promoting relaxation, improving sleep, and reducing anxiety and stress. This lying down form of deep relaxation and meditation (recently rebranded by some as Non-Sleep Deep Relaxation (NSDR)) helps calm the nervous system. It can be practiced during the day to restore and recharge depleted energy, or at the end of the day to drift into a deeper sleep.

Regular practice (several times a week) can bring significant physical and emotional benefits during this time of transition, including enhanced overall well-being and emotional balance, along with acceptance of this rite of passage. Moving forward through the changes, we can sense and look forward to being out the other side, with renewed energy and optimism, liberated from the cycle of menstruation.

Once learned, the practice is a free, natural, life-long stress management tool, which will improve our health at any age. With zero carbon footprint and no drugs. Every practice systematically reduces accumulated stress levels, and protects us from the habit of accumulating yet more stress.

Yoga Nidra practice helps by:

Promoting relaxation - Yoga Nidra guides us into a profound state of relaxation, similar to deep sleep, helping to release physical tension and calm the mind.

Improving sleep quality - by calming the nervous system and easing the mind, Yoga Nidra is really helpful for women who experience disturbed sleep, difficulty falling and/or staying asleep. Yoga Nidra also greatly improves the quality of our sleep.

Reducing anxiety and low mood - the meditative nature of Yoga Nidra can significantly reduce anxiety, stress, and feelings of overwhelm which are often experienced during menopause.

Enhancing well-being - all of the above make us feel better, less-reactive to stress and irritations, lessening the impact of hot flushes, and encouraging us to make healthy choices regarding diet and exercise.

No experience or prior knowledge of yoga is needed – this is a simple, inclusive technique available to all.

3-month mentored online course starting late October.

“Our essential nature is boundless consciousness.  We are rooted in it when the mind focuses and settles.”
